Visiting tourist from Iraq and mother of Fatma Hussain said, “My daughter and I loved the Modhesh theatre. I really enjoyed it and we had an exciting time dancing to the music, and imitating the performers. Having taken a tour around Modhesh World, I can tell that aside from providing entertainment to families, the choice of shows and activities in this destination is helpful in encouraging children to be creative and to use their talents in performing arts. I’m sure that during our next visit to Dubai, we will return to Modhesh World.”

The kids to evoke their excitement and experience of Modhesh World, Maithaa 7 Years old from Ras Al Khaimah said, “I love all the rides and games here at Modhesh World. Every time I am here, I feel so alive. I get so much excited from the adventure this place brings. Nadine Sameh, 8 Years old from Egypt exclaimed, “We live in Ajman but I make sure that my parents bring me here to Modhesh World every time it is open. I like the shows, rides, food, art activities, and of course, Modhesh!”

Originally choreographed by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot, the role of Giselle was intended for Carlotta Grisi as her debut piece for the Paris public. She became the first to dance the role and was the only ballerina to dance it at the Opera for many years.

The performance is bifurcated into two acts that draws audiences through an array of emotions and situations of life. The story revolves around a young peasant girl, Giselle, who falls in love with a nobleman posing as a peasant. The story runs into love triangles, betrayals and heartbreaks which trails its way to the grave and beyond.

Living in a flowerbed

Well you don’t need to imagine or shrink yourself. The Dubai Municipality announced their latest project idea on Facebook, an eco-friendly city in the shape of flowers.

The project embodies the vision of Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and is in line with the UAE policy of following a sustainable approach to urbanisation.

The Desert Rose City, will house schools, shopping malls, clinics and hospitals, villas and designated housing for Emiratis running on renewable energy. The city will be totally self-sustainable, will have its own police station, mosques and other services. The project is expected to welcome 160,000 inhabitants to an area of more than 14,000 hectares and should be complete by 2020.

Abu Dhabi becomes fitness friendly

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]In today’s world of growing health consciousness, people are turning towards fitness as a part of their daily routine. The city of Abu Dhabi devised a new initiative to encourage and promote fitness among their citizens.

The Abu Dhabi Municipality has constructed three paths, a running path, walking path and cycling path from Mina Zayed and ends at intersection A7 on the corniche. The paths built have been scientifically designed to eliminate any negative impact for people who use these paths.

The municipality started construction of the Walk project in December and completed it by May this year, 2016, at a cost of 4 million Dirhams. During the construction of the walk paths, the municipality provided alternate walking paths with shelter to make the construction less of an inconvenience for the users.

The project is part of the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport as well as the Abu Dhabi City Municipality’s plans to improve the quality of life in the Capital. The vision of the project is in line with Abu Dhabi Plan 2030 that aims at raising the bar on service delivery.

The 10 nights long festival which was held at the World Trade Centre in Dubai, had stalls that featured traditional and contemporary clothing, jewellery, health & beauty products, personal care, perfumes, food, home appliances, electronics, toys & baby items, handicrafts, souvenirs & collectables, travel & tourism, handwriting analysis, medical and many more to choose from.

Ramdan

While the parents shopped, a variety of activities kept children entertained. Ramadan Night Market had its very own “Kids Play area” which hosted activities like face painting,sand art, bouncy castles, nail art, mini basketball court, wall climbing,kiddie train, merry go round, Play Station, sand art, bouncy castles,clowns, balloon twisting, arts & crafts area,soft play area and other fun activities.The festival had an array of different food ranging from carnival to traditional snacks. This year’s festival also included a variety of street performances as well as entertaining acts such as stilt-walking, living statues etc.

The Gaia Centre

The Gaia Centre incorporates Art, Drama, Creative writing, Communication to learning, making this a one of a kind course for both children and adults.

Dubai Turns Driverless

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Dubai steps into the future as the Emirates have begun to take steps to make driver less cars an imminent reality in the near future.

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced a new project that will see driverless vehicles populating Dubai’s roads. A 10-seater prototype was rolled out for the start of the three-day MENA Congress of International Union of Public Transport (UITP), which began on Monday.

The plan is to provide a feasible, long-lasting solution to Dubai’s traffic problems which include reckless driving, tailgating and traffic jams by 2030.

Sheikh Mohammed tweeted: “We have approved today a new strategy for self-driving transport… By the year 2030, 25 per cent of transport in Dubai will be smart and without drivers.”

The project aims at promoting environmental awareness amongst people by reducing air and traffic pollution by providing efficient, reliable transportation solutions.

Sheikh Mohammed wrote in another tweet: “It is a cooperation between RTA and Dubai Future Association, and it is one of the early projects the association will work on.”

“We’ve also launched Dubai global challenge for driverless transportation, the largest global bid for companies and research centres to introduce this technology to Dubai streets.”

“Dubai introduces an international solo-model for the future city and is turning into the biggest laboratory to develop and improve driverless transportation.”

Aykon Dare

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]For all the daredevils, madcaps and adventurous souls out there, Dubai has the perfect new first-of-its-kind jaw dropping attraction—AYKON Dare.

It is a sky walk that starts at the 79th floor and the visitors will be walking on a glass- floored ledge along the outer walls of the skyscraper. Once at the 80th floor, the pinnacle of the skyscraper, the visitors will step on to an observation deck and will get to see daring and breath taking 360 degree views of Dubai.

There will also be a glass capsule before starting out the ascent to 80th floor, which is 935ft above the ground. Worry not, the visitors will be harnessed in and secured to a safety rail.

The glass ledge is said to give the visitors a feeling of walking in the air. It is touted that on a clear day visitors can see up to 64kms into the horizon, stretching as far as Dubai- Abu Dhabi border. The whole experience is to take about an hour.

This attraction is a part of AYKON City project which will be accommodating six towers including luxury apartments and five star hotels. AYKON Dare will be in one of its five star hotels. The project is expected to be completed by 2021.
